The Clean Air Improvement Program (CAIP) through the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority (OAQDA) is a resource for businesses of all sizes looking to invest in more energy efficient or renewable energy technologies. The financial benefits of the OAQDA-issued bonds provide applicable tax exemptions–including sales, use and property–for qualified projects.

There are several project types that fall under CAIP eligibility including but not limited to new construction or retrofit energy conservation measures (ECMs) such as LED lighting or HVAC that achieve a 15% energy savings above current standards. Renewable energy generation, clean transportation infrastructure, and efficiently designed buildings are also eligible projects.

This program can be integrated with other available incentives and tax credits. If you would like help taking advantage of this program or would like more information, email Claire Wilson (claire@viridi.eco).
