A Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) represents energy produced by a renewable resource like wind, solar, or hydro. When 1,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of power is generated by a renewable resource, 1 REC is created, and that REC represents and tracks the renewable energy once it enters the grid. By purchasing 12 RECs, you are effectively greening up some (if not all) of your home’s energy! Click here to learn more about RECs.
