The Energy Loan Fund is a financing program authorized through the State of Ohio Department of Development. The fund provides low-interest financing to install efficiency measures that reduce energy by at least 15%. Current interest rates are well below commercial lending rates. The list of eligible applicants includes:
- Small businesses
- Local governments
- Nonprofit organizations
- Public school districts
- Colleges and Universities
- Manufacturers looking to implement one or more eligible energy efficiency projects
The projects eligible for financing include but are not limited to:
- LED lighting
- HVAC upgrades
- Window and door replacements
- Co-generation systems
By itself, a renewable energy system is not eligible, but when paired with a larger energy efficiency project, the loan fund has the ability to bundle the financing.
Loan amounts available can range from $250,000 up to $2.5 million depending on project type and size and the documentation required for an application varies as well. Viridi can help you determine your eligibility and your application requirements.
